"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body." 2 Corinthians 4:7-10
A beautiful evening of worship with some fabulous ladies. Jesus is making all things new. 🙏🏻
Ladies! Consider joining us for Women's Bible Study this summer. HCC will be hosting a study on the book of Second Corinthians beginning Thursday, June 15th from 7:30-9 pm. The study will run 8 sessions on Thursdays and conclude on August 3rd. The study is entitled "All Things New" by Kelly Minter. The format includes a discussion time and a DVD teaching segment. Discussion will be facillitated by Mary Jensen and Jackie Grace. Expect a great time of biblical learning and fellowship. Don't forget to bring a friend! The study is open to all ladies from surrounding communities, and drop-ins are always welcome. Sign up at HCC or by sending HCC a Facebook message. Description of Study: The city of ancient Corinth was much like our own modern-day cities: a melting pot of electrifying cultural experiences to be had, along with the myriad pitfalls of spiritual depravity. Still, Paul wrote to the church of God in Corinth. Meaning God’s church is meant to thrive in any city and every circumstance in which we find ourselves. Paul’s letter is as timely as ever. Over 8 sessions, Kelly Minter will lead you through the Letter of 2 Corinthians, exploring the anchoring truths of bearing treasures in jars of clay, meeting Christ through a pressing thorn, opening wide your heart in the midst of hurtful relationships, and what it means to embrace the lost and lonely as ministers of the new covenant. Each of us has a message to proclaim and live by: Because of Jesus the old has gone, the new has come. Benefits: · Grow in biblical literacy with in-depth study of the Book of 2 Corinthians · Discover how God can use you no matter your cultural setting · Learn how your suffering can help you comfort others · Gain wisdom for relationships, and strengthen your church and community · Leave your old self behind as you celebrate the new life of a believer · Understand God’s ways will set you free The cost of the participant study guide is $14.00. Study guide is not mandatory but highly recommended.

Have you encountered someone who has asked, “What exactly is the significance of Easter?” Easter is the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection after his crucifixion and burial. The resurrection is the hope of the Gospel message. Scripture teaches that God raised Jesus from the dead, “because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him” (Acts 2:24; NIV). On Good Friday, we remember that Jesus suffered and died for the sins of man. On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the truth that death has no power over our Lord and Savior. The resurrection testifies to Jesus as God, as there is only One who has authority over death. When we place our trust in Jesus, he breaks the power of sin in our lives. We are guaranteed eternal life in our resurrected bodies, but we are also promised hope for today! Consider Romans 6:8-14: “Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.” God is asking to break the power of sin and death in your life today. Will you let him? HCC's Easter service will be at 10:45 tomorrow. We hope to see you there!

FIVE REASONS TO BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST THIS EASTER Current culture seems to tolerate almost anything and functions under the assumption that all roads lead to heaven. In the Bible, Jesus makes the exclusive claim that believing in Him is the only way that anyone gets to heaven (John 14:6). Over the centuries, many have claimed to be the Savior of the world, but only Jesus has proven it with His birth, life, death, and resurrection. If you are curious about Jesus’ claims to be the Messiah, please consider the following five reasons to believe that Jesus is who He said He was and is worthy to be trusted with your life. PROPHECY Jesus’ birthplace of Bethlehem was prophesied hundreds of years before Jesus entered the world (Micah 5:2 and Luke 2:1-7). If there is one thing in life that is out of our control it is the time and place of our birth. PROCLAMATION Jesus proclaimed throughout His life that He was the Messiah, and even when threatened with death claimed it to be true (Matthew 26:62-64). Many self-proclaimed messiahs are willing to live for a lie, but seldom will any die to uphold one. POWER Jesus proved through miracles that He had power over the spiritual and the physical realms of life (Matthew 9:1-8). It is one thing to say something is true, but quite another to dramatically prove it. PREDICTION Jesus predicted not only His death, but how long He would be in the grave (Mark 10:32-34). Jesus conquered death securing His authority over this life and the next. A PERSONAL PROMISE "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Won’t you ask Him to be your personal Lord and Savior today? Pastor Doug
HCC will be celebrating three baptisms this coming Sunday at 10:45! Baptism is a public outward demonstration of a personal inward decision to trust Jesus for salvation. It is not a requirement of salvation, but is an act of obedience after salvation. Baptism by immersion illustrates Christ's death, burial, and resurrection and a believer's identification with Him. Everywhere the Gospel is preached and people believe in faith, they are to be baptized; thus fulfilling the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20. -Pastor Doug
